TITLE: Knot-Of-Naught NAME: Sean O'Shell COUNTRY: U.S.A. EMAIL: weezle@ix.netcom.com WEBPAGE: http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/5671 TOPIC: The Elements COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: atomring.jpg RENDERER USED: Povray 3 TOOLS USED: Moray Modeler (the DOS version) RENDER TIME: about 6 hours maybe HARDWARE USED: Pentium 90 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Abstract of what an atomic element might look like if you could get close enough to get a good look. I like it because it's 3-D and then again it's not. It's also reminiscent of the universal symbol for radiation. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: First I made a ring with rounded edges. I then placed 2 other copies on the other 2 axes. I then assigned an "onion" texture to that object and scaled it down along one axis. I then placed 2 other copies of that compound object on the other 2 axes. Voila.... instant "doo dad". Enjoy.
