The creature reminds me of the old 1963 movie, Day Of The Triffids.  I agree,
the hot to cool metal element came out very nice.  Save it for a stove top
someday.  This is some interesing modeling here, but I had to turn my
brightness up to maximum to see it.

One note:  The image is extremly dark... you might try using
a lower assumed_gamma.  I see you currently use 2.2, which is quite high.


The modeling is quite good, and you have made good use of the

The ways elements are individually represented is interesting.  Overall
lightning is a little flat, multiple pointlights give confusing shadows.
Oh, and the stair is dangerous; the steps must have a greater vertical
distance (being picky, here).
