===== From scooby@pld.com: The fire media is very well done. The foreground heightfield textures need the same amount of attention. ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: Kudos on the most realistic volcano I've seen, but you're right, the image suffered from jpg conversion. ===== From skywise@fix.net: Excellent image... I suspect this will be one of the six 'winners' ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: The crater and flame came out great. I would rather see a single river of lava instead many tiny streams that I find distracting. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good lighting. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Very effective use of simple elements. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: This is potentially a very effective scene! The use of halos is quite good. However, the lava floa needs some work, I think... it doesn't appear "cracked" enough to me -- there is too much order in the pattern. Also, the global illumination is really too dark. Still, it is a nice piece of work, and with a little more attention could be quite stunning! Note: You will get less JPEG artifact if you use a higher quality setting. You were well below the file size limit, so could afford to use less compression. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Graphically very good. I especially like the big halo in the back, and the lava texture in the front (the way these orange lines wanders on the black surface). ===== From r@cust193.webbernet.net: Dramatic and surreal and very nicely done. With that much flame, there should be some spitting lava. The sky is dramatic, but it looks just a little too painted. The magma texture has a lot of promise. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
