===== From scooby@pld.com: Great idea! ===== From roth@ens.ascom.ch: I guess just scaling the fire texture down 50% would improve it a lot. Otherwise it's very good considering your <2 month's experience! ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: Love the idea, especially with the gold bonds. I look forward to seeing improvements in your fire and flame. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: A good idea, high marks for concept. Very nice, especially for only two months experience. My thought for improvement is to put the background out of focus, I find it distracting. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: I like the background tile texture and its form. Good diagonal placements give the image more energy. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Wow... I give this one very high art and concept scores. It is a true work of art. Technical-wise, it doesn't really have any striking elements, but for a first-time image, it is excellent! Impressive. Dan ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: A more original assumption of the theme. Usual problem with triangle-based modellers: they give ugly outlines... ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: VERY original, both concept and realization. Simple but efficient. One of the best surprises in this round. ===== From r@dt027n86.maine.rr.com: This one is also a cleaver and original idea. It makes me laugh a bit but i would like to see were these men are haning and perhaps a bit of background. Notable for originality ===== From r@dial-up46.webbernet.net: Shows some promise. Texturing and composition need work. The kanji are well done. The floor looks more like a chain link fence. You need an obvious normal on the mortar or it should actually be noticeably below the level of the tiles. The coffins are almost invisible, but glass can be a pain to get right. The "water" person is by far the most "realistic" texture. The layering was a good idea. Time spent in texture refinement can pay big dividends. If an image is going to be mainly symbolic, the message of the symbolism needs to be focussed. In this case the "chains of gold" (they look more like pipe fittings) and "control of elements" themes neither one stand out. Without the text file, this would just seem to be an abstract. I'm not trying to be too negative. Most people at the <2 months level of experience would still be struggling with checkerboards and mirrored spheres. Keep working. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
