===== From scooby@pld.com: Beautiful, nearly-photorealistic image. Add some textural blemishes to improve realism. Great job! ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: I love the texture on the mill. The mountains in the background seem out of place, maybe they are too sharp. Even though they aren't yours you made good use of the plants and trees. I wouldn't know it related to the them if you hadn't told me. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Nice use of concept "elements." Too many other people showcased sloppy CSG of "four elements." ===== From nx@chez.com: Try to re-render this nice pic using non-centered windmill, and maybe rotated (around y*180). Sky looks almost real, but seems to fall down in the background. Also, the Sonya's tree inc file is fine but not for the foreground (sorry Sonya !). I guess it's worth to try. ===== From jsaxton@folio.com: Very nice work. It would have been more visually interesting to have the windmill somewhere other than directly in the middle of the image ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: The brick texture is great, I'll have to look at your code to see exactly how you did it. My only suggestion for improvement is that the sky texture looks a bit circular. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: "Air" and "Wind" as two elements? Ok, I promise not to laugh. Exquisite modelling on the windmill. Really looks huge. I like the brown texture, although it doesn't quite wrap around properly. Nice landscape textures, the more distant the better. The foreground leaves are well placed, but just too flat. Good soft lighting on a cloudy day. Four elements, eh? Giggle. Oops, sorry. :-) ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nicely done!!! This is an excellent example of the power of effective texturing. The scene looks strikingly realistic. A few comments : * The leaves look a bit artificial. * The texturing of the distant mountains could use a little refinedment. Still, it's an excellent piece of work! Dan ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Very impressive! The greenery is quite good, and the windmill is magnificent. Good sky too. nice use of subtle focal blue. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Good and original idea. I like the picture, but your use of textures make it look very different from "usual" POV rendering. Especially for the brick works. A few remarks however: the sky is scaled a bit too large for me; the clouds would look better near the horizon if they were smaller. Another point is that the mountains seem to be a flat image. Maybe because of the outline effect. ===== From ekennedy@voyager.net: I like the texture on the windmill building. The leaves and branches look artificially flat and straight, though. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: I like the gray leaves on the trees, for a change. Landscape is also discreetly coloured. The materials used for the windmill's roof and wings leave me wondering what it is... (white roof ??) Thanks for the discrete signature ! ===== From r@dial-up46.webbernet.net: Nice image. The windmill is very well modelled. I like the brick texture and the translucent blades. The small bushes around the mill are good, but the leaves of the closeup trees stick straight out from the end of the branches. This looks quite unnatural. The mountain background doesn't stand up to the realism of the rest of the image, and it detracts. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
