===== From scooby@pld.com: The decanter and other glass are remarkably well-modelled. Hats off! ===== From tlyons@gnn.com: naa, get off your butt and WRITE a book on how to do this stuff!!! ===== From ewgr@abaddon.globalnet.co.uk: Keep going, you're doing well. I have never read a book finding trial and error to be the most thorough teacher... and the pov documentation helps too. ;-) ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Potent stuff! I like the star on the decanter. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nice play on the topic! A few comments: * The "water" is too heavily pigment mapped.. * The scene is too dark overall -- it is mostly ambient lighting. Try a few more explicit light sources. Still, nice modeling on the flasks! ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: I love that bottle (with the fire in it) a cool concept/look. The rest of the scene does little for me. ...except for that fire/cube that was a nice touch. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: A commercial for whisky? I should have have thought about it ;-) ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Topicality seems good to me. I think you didn't achieve the bar room lighting you wanted. To obtain that, you should leave most of the room in the darkness and illuminate only some areas with soft spotlights, combined with arealights, if possible. Use colored lights too... ===== From r@dial-up46.webbernet.net: Nothing wrong with punning on the topic. The bottle and shotglass are very nice models. The simple "fire-water" texture is surprisingly effective as literal fire-water. Oddly though, it works better in the reflection than in the closeup. The liquids don't really sit right in the containers, giving a suggestion that they are really solids. Realistic surface tension is a pain to model, though. There are a couple of irritating visual artifacts on the bottle. There seems to be an untrimmed edge at the top of the liquid, and there is the mysteriious color band on the bottle a bit below that. The lighting is an interesting idea. The sloganeering on the mirror is a very nice touch. Considered as a magazine ad layout, the image is very credible. Good job. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
