Well, I have to admit that my concept does not easily leap to the eye, but think about this: - What does a coffee bean grow from? - What do you mix the grated bean with? - What do you use to boil the mixture? - What do you do if the stuff is too hot? DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The idea sprang to my mind while I was raytracing a cup of coffee for my JAVA web-page. I had been thinking about what to model for "elements" for quite some time, but I didn't have any good ideas. Then I saw the cup on my desk and though "hey, wait, coffee encompasses all the classic elements": Earth. Water. Fire. Air. The cup, saucer, spoon and monitor were created with sPatch, an exellent modeller for patches, the rest is simple CSG stuff. The 'recursion' in the monitor's screen is done by using a preliminary version as an image_map. I did that routing a few times, until I coulnd't see the first version anymore. The scene is pretty 'empty', but I - didn't want to distract the viewer from the cup - didn't have the time to model my room and desk in more detail it's way too chaotic for accurate modelling :)
