===== From witoslaw@kki.net.pl: Shadows are too sharp. During the storm ypu cannot see almost ANY shadows as the light is coming from every direction beeing refracted and filtered by the thick layer of cdark clouds ===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Great detail! A "Nina and Pinta" web page might be a hit in the educational crowd, especially if the source is available! The image itself, in this storm, is a bit clear--some water particles in the air might make it look better. ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: Appears to be a good model of a ship and a lot of work went into it. The ocean needs some improvement and it would be neat to see the ship wet from all the waves. ===== From amason@cs.uct.ac.za: very nice colours are a bit weird (for me) - work on them and it would be excellent. ===== From justin@scpmcs.org: Stunning work. Great attention to detail, textures, the whole work. ===== From vogelap@email.uc.edu: Nice wood textures. Good feeling of motion. Particles could use more work. Good colors. Excellent detail (I've seen the boat too!). ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Very good modelling, but rather unconvincong lighting, in a storm there will be no point light source lighting the whole scene. ===== From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu: Well done image, but the spray looks too streaky, like scratches on the negative. I'd have either lost it or worked on another method for doing a spray. ===== From karl@pemail.net: interesting history lesson ! Nice to se someone else who does a bit of research into their subject ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Very Good! And your spelling aid it's very correct! The pain is that you don't have the n with the tilde. That letter, very spanish, sounds like "ny", which has no english corresponding. But try to pronounce it fast, as if it were a single letter (not neen-ya, but nee-nya ;). Well, sorry for the long spanish lesson. But you know what long stories are, isn't? :) Seriously, I liked very much this one. The detail level is great, the wood texturing job, fantastic. And also the cords. And the chicken touch, superb! I perhaps don't like the lighting, but I know that a realistic light in this scene were not showed all the nice details, which I prefer to see, of course. The water splashing it's also a nice touch, but needs more work. In short, another great scene from you (I'm still shocked by "Blast"!). P.S.: "La Nina" means "The Girl". Reading your explanation about she, it seems now natural this nickname (I was noticed it just today, reading your txt!). ===== From Varyk@aol.com: Aren't the yellow-balled rings sliders attached to the lowered yard? if s= o, how do they get raised past the cleats? As you seem well-versed in na= utica, I assume there's something I just don't understand. Beautiful ima= ge. Glad someone backs up my use of green glass for deep ocean. ===== From djohnston@iname.com: I see chikens, but I see no people. :) Good job with the waves, but the sky could use more grey to portray storm clouds. ===== From uwe.post@online.de: I like it, but I miss the mist or fog. It's too clean. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Funny, even with all the detail on the ship, the first thing that caught my eye was the straw-like splashes of the water. Hmmm, I must have been looking for "water" for some reason... I like the wood appearance, and the swaying rope loop. Textures are superb. Good historic detail all over. Well researched and presented. Lots of drama. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: A very effective image with good detail and excellent sea. ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Great modeling and composition. Some of the elements look a bit stiff (the spray, the other ship. I like the rigging. ===== From r@flametree.hunterlink.net.au: I like it. the ships are great. i think it should be a bit darker Notable for textures, modelling ===== From r@dialup-78-168.infoserv.net: Superb scene! I only have a complaint, the light is too bright, in Colombus' times there was no electric light available on ships, or am I wrong? Notable for textures, composition, modelling
