===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Nice concept. The skull doesn't look anything like a skull unless I really try hard, though. The problem with parts of your first glass turning black might be that the rays were passing through too many transparent parts. There is a maximum--you can increase the maximum in global_settings. I think it is "max_trace_level", but read the docs for global_settings and you'll see if I'm right. Nice use of focal blur. ===== From jasondinger@hotmail.com: the pitcher and glass look really nice, but i've got to ask: that's a skull? ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Appropriate simplicity. Bezier patch artifact on head is distracting. ===== From amason@cs.uct.ac.za: quite nice. like the glass, tray, pyramids, jug. Not sure about the skull, seems unnecessary and picture would work better (from the point of view of composition anyway) without it. Open space on left, pyramids further to left to balance jug? dunes could be better maybe. ===== From justin@scpmcs.org: Not that complex but still a pleasure to look at. ===== From vogelap@email.uc.edu: I like the focal blur. ===== From bonsalva@bellsouth.net: Good glass. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Nice idea and good modelling with the glass ware and water. I think the skull looks a bit odd and is too heavily and too regularly textured. The pyramids in the background and the focal blur are really good. ===== From karl@pemail.net: Darkness in transparent objects can be lessened by increasnig the MAX_TRACE_LEVEL ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Nice desertic light. The skull texture it's a bit confusing, perhaps. ===== From Varyk@aol.com: dark in the glass...maybe you ran into the same problem the Poolside imag= e did with the tabletop (see poolside.txt) Sorry about the skull. Maybe= if you had made it sorta yellowish-dirty and cast it in shadow...almost = missed the can, and wouldn't have known what it was unless you told me. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: I agree, the skull needs more work, in fact I didn't even recognize it as a skull until I read the text file. Nice modelling of the glass and water. And the small touches of blue/purple reflecting in the glass add lots of life to the image. ===== From ulf.schreiber@gmx.net: The blue reflections of the top of the sky_sphere (i think?) give it the "extra"! ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Interesting concept, nice elements. As you note, the skull is a weird shape. I do like its texture, though. ===== From r@138.102.96.24: Notable for lighting ===== From r@slater.ed.edu.jonkoping.se: Notable for composition
