===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Very, very good job on the rain! The rain cloud is also well done. I think the man's stick is floating slightly off the ground towards the camera; and the cracked ground isn't quite up to the quality of the rest of the image (somewhat flat) but otherwise, the objects in this scene are great! ===== From Sean_Hamilton@amrcorp.com: I like the look of the rain and the use of clothing on the figure. I think the cracked earth could used some depts and the figure looks sort of 'placed' there. Perhaps the feet need to be embedded in the earth a bit. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Very nice. One can see that the head of the man is very simply shaped, whereas the feet are excellent (from another person, as you said). The rais and the distance fog really look good, as do the clouds. The folding clothesa are also very good. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Nice. Very nice. It's quite resemblant/contrasting with other great entry, but I think it's pure coincidence. Liked all, the rain, the clouds/fog and the terrain/plants. The man attitude it's the best. ===== From Varyk@aol.com: nice rain effect! Wilted weeds are very effective. ===== From djohnston@iname.com: I like the rain and the clouds. I very good overcast sky (its all grey, but you can see the shift in shades, giving a sense of depth). ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Innovative technique on the cloth folds. Great sparse vegetation and gently rolling terrain. The head could use a little more work. Wonderful image. Interesting to compare this one to poseidon.jpg ===== From ulf.schreiber@gmx.net: Ah, that classic "cone-plant" again, didn't everyone once... but ... _it_is_just_perfect_in_this_case_!_ Congratulations for that instinct go put the right algorithm in the right place. Brilliant clothing. Shouldn't the fog use a darker color, this looks just white, like how it was already cleaning up and the sun shune on the damp land. On the other hand, I like the sky very much, especially how it darkens towards the horizon. (It would just fit too perfect with a darker fog, sniff) The soft lighting does quite well at simulating the unnatural light on an overcast summer day (sniff, at least in the foreground were the white fog does not take effect... sniff, ... I'd loved that pic, sniff, sniff) ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Good concept, nice modeling on the man. Some parts of him look a bit too rounded, like his head-piece, but that's the result of it being all blobs, I guess. Nice concept, good solid execution. ===== From r@dc2-modem1283.dial.xs4all.nl: I really like the idea, but the gray sky and diffuse lighting (not much shadow) makes the image a bit dull. The man is 'blobby' (the cloth looks like it's partly made of jelly), but the folds are very nicely done. By the way... didn't I see those shrubs before in your desert image? :) Maybe some more landscape effects or plants would have added to the dynamics, but of course you were modeling a desert... Notable for originality
