===== From nels1678@tc.umn.edu: Not too bad MAN! :)you could work on textures a bit more, and maybe make some more detail.. Looks good! ===== From xeo@home.com: nice scene! carpet does look good. the water looks like motor oil though... ===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Nice use of light and shadows! The spilled water is somewhat prism-like--sort of ramped edges. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Water is of distactingly unnatural thickness and cross-section. Wood pattern repeats too much, and table appears to be composed entirely out of one piece of wood. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Reasonalby interedsting setting, but the water is totally black. Surely you must have noticed that! Renderman knows two values for surfaces, color and opacity, the shadow is calculated with the opacity value, and as glass is only "transparent" in BMRT, because a new ray is traced from there, it still casts totally opaque shadows. It is in fact not possible with BMRT to cast realistic shadows of glass objects. For the water patches on the table you should have disabled shadow-casting alltogether, for the glasses there is no simple workaround. Starting with BMRT 2.4 there are features that make it possible to create shadow dummy objects that are not directly visible but only cast shadows and are visible in reflections. ===== From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu: Water is wrong color, looks like a puddle of crude oil. ===== From Varyk@aol.com: Nice planning and followthrough, everything looks great except the water,= looks like india ink or mercury. Unfortunately, this is a Water round. ===== From djohnston@iname.com: Thge carpet texture is very good, but the water looks black in color...that can't be right. :) ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Blackest water I've ever seen. ===== From chipr@niestu.com: Wow, I never suspected this was done with BMRT until I read the text file! Good job. The spilled water looks too dark--the liquid looks more like cola. The puddles look flat on top, like they were taller but truncated by differencing them with something flat. Maybe it's just the reflections, I dunno. Love that carpet! Overall nice clean image.
