TITLE: Thirsty? NAME: Cedar Cox COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: cedarc@geocities.com TOPIC: Water COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: dry36f.jpg ZIPFILE: dry36f.zip RENDERER USED: Povray 3.01 TOOLS USED: HFlab (thank you John!), Photoshop for (c)/JPG conversion RENDER TIME: ~18 Hours* HARDWARE USED: P60 for render, a variety of others during creation IMAGE DESCRIPTION: One day I happened to remember Povray and how cool it was, so I got to looking at the web site.. then I remembered the competition. Water. Hmm, no water, desert...with a little water. So I had an idea, but one problem. I had only about a week to create an image. Looks like I pulled it off! DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The only height field used in this image is the 'mountain' or large hill (I live in Colorado) in the background. 20 planes stacked on top of each other with creative pigment mapping makes up the cracked ground. Used Photoshop to add (c), resize image, and convert to JPG. I accidentally rendered at 1024x768 without realizing 800x600 was max size accepted. Email me if you would like the large TGA and just don't feel like rendering it. * Computer was turned off before I could write time down.. this is render time at 1024x768
