JPGFILE: jslwater.jpg ZIPFILE: jslwater.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.1 TOOLS USED: HF-Lab for Height fields, Genisis for vegitation. RENDER TIME: 5.5 Hours HARDWARE USED: Pentium II 300MHz 64mb Ram 5gb total HD. IMAGE DESCRIPTION: To me, water means life. This is a scene depicting the center of that life. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The surrounding hillsides are obviously a height field, Created from HF-Lab. The trees were placed manually with loops coded by hand. The water is just a plane with a surface normal, and an interior with IOR. I experimented a little with media in this one, creating the faint fog you see. I think it was a pretty good effect. The Ferns and Trees come from Genisis by Joerg Schrammel. The grass was created by hand, and is composed of 300 triangles per mesh. Total triangles are about 180,000 in number. Thank you Sonya Roberts for the pointer on custom bounding. The stones are also meshes, created with a utility called Orb-Cyl created by John Beale. And as allways, thanks to the Pov-team, for their persistance in creating the best freeware renderer in the world! (IMHO) -Jason
