HARDWARE USED: AMD K6-2 3D, 350 mhz, 128 Meg RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: "Just a tear that has run out of an eye, a liquid emotion sliding past." I was thinking that with water as a topic, there would be a lot of entries of ponds, pools, and ocean scenes. I said to myself, "Self, you don't want to do just another one of those, you want to do something that, just maybe, will stand out a bit." But what could that be?? Was wandering the web the next day and ran across a close-up photo of an eye. Thought, that'd be really cool to make, but doesn't really fit the topic. but wait... if it was also crying.... DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Hmmm.. lots of technical stuff, right? Skin was created using MetaNrubs function within Lightwave, a little tweak here and some pulling there, and presto! You have a fairly nice eye socket. The eye itself is just a big sphere with a little texturing added, iris map created in Photoshop. Eyelashes were created from a very tiny cone, rotated a few different ways, and cloned along the rim of the eye lid at varying distances. Four passes for each lid. 100 or so for the upper lid, and only 50 or so on the lower lid. Tear? Just grabed the points from the are I wanted, Jittered them a bit to add texture, and went ahead and MetaNurbed them again to keep them fluid looking.
