I wanted to try and convey that feeling with this picture. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The picture is basically quite simple. I first created a terrain and flattened it quite a lot and then flipped it over to form the river bed. This was duplicated and the duplicate was raised above the original to form the water surface. This technique ensures that the water surface follows the surface of the river bed it is flowing over. The textures of the water and river bed are slightly modified Bryce preset textures. The rocks (there are about 12 of them) were then added to create some interest and to form channels and still areas of water. The texture for the rocks was created from a digital photo of the wall of an 11th century Norman chapel (I have a small Panasonic cardshot camera which is great for gathering textures). The tree shadow was created by careful positioning of a PICT object (I don't have enough RAM to use dxf models of trees) to cast a shadow over the water. The tree has no leaves on it so I thought I ought to have some dead leaves floating by on the water. These are PICT objects again - they were created by photographing a leaf on a white background (to make the masking job easier). The colour of the leaf was altered (using Microfrontier's Enhance 4.02) to give a reddish-brown autumnal look and some detail (veins, etc.) was added to make them look more realistic. The Bryce 2.1 (Mac) file for this picture is contained in the attached .zip file (including the PICT objects and texture)
