JPGFILE: watrwing.jpg ZIPFILE: watrwing.zip RENDERER USED: POV 3.1 TOOLS USED: sPatch, Photoshop RENDER TIME: Several hours (shut down the danged program without checking and I'm not re-rendering just to put in the # of hours) HARDWARE USED: Pentium 166, w. 48 MB RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Has the fabled Winseat plane met its end at last? After a myriad of travails around the world and possibly to worlds beyond our own, could this be the end? Only time will tell. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I had waffled over several ideas for the Water round, without coming to any conclusion. Then, after being admitted as an Associate Admin, Bill jokingly commented that I must now make the obligatory Winseat image. :{) It immediately sparked me, and I began. The seat cushions, seat backs, and seat back protectors/head mats, were all created in sPatch. Everything else is simple csg. The window frames are differenced superellipsoids. The upper compartments are created by differencing a cylinder with superellipsoids. The water, starting to come in through the edges ofthe window frames, was made with blobs. The water outside is a simple box with a wrinkle pattern. There's nothing really special in this image. It was made for fun, not for competition. That's not to say that it was a quick whip-up. A lot of work went into it, so constructive criticism is still welcome. :{) Photoshop was used to convert the Targa image over to JPG.
