===== From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu: Points for realism... ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Superb depiction of a B29 cockpit. But the white wire bundles are so bright, they look like wavy fluorescent lights. Flat lighting detracts: uniform brightness/contrast top-to-bottom, front-to-rear, inside-and-out. Interesting story. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: An interesting pair of images!!! I prefer this one a bit, as the viewpoint is a more familiar one, but perhaps this indicates my lack of creativity :). But the interior of the plane has greater complexity than your alien interior, and thus I think this is the more interesting image, White knuckles!?!? What attention to detail! Excellent! Your research is also noteworthy. It is strange the two technically exceptional images this round (see also strike.jpg) are WWII based..... WWII was in vogue in 1998, both in this round and in the cinema :). One comment : the lighting inside the cockpit could be a bit more creatively done... it seems to diffuse. One artistic note : the black background is less distracting in this than it is in the other. ===== From east103@dialaccess.com: Nice saucers but I feel the hand and arm could use more work. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Great job with the B29, admirable attention to detail and authenticity. Not so sure about the bogeys. They are how you choose to see them but the description of foo fighters is usually something smaller, fuzzier and more mysterious. ===== From blaineholmes@hotmail.com: Nice cockpit work. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: Hmm... the main suggestion I would have with this shot is to work on the lighting. The shadows should be deeper; the interior lights more localized; the effect of the outlying nighttime light having more of an impact in a much darker cabin. After all, a bomber plane going into battle would be pretty much running dark. ===== From r@haka.saunalahti.fi: Made me think of B5 immediately, before I noticed that this was in fact a bomber plane. The saucers look good, the overall mood is just perfect, and you've certainly done your homework with the plane - too bad so much of the detail is lost. Oh, and those are among the best blob hands I've ever seen. Notable for lighting, composition, modelling
