===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Boy, I still have a lot to learn. I never even thought about using granite as the normal, I have been using height fields to do this. Nice detail in changing the color of the leaves on the ground, but how did the they get under the statue. Nice job on the lichen and the background. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good environment and ambience. I like the use of ferns. The statue reminds me of an idol -- almost looks as though it might be just a few inches tall. Good modelling and blend of textures on the statue, but the material is difficult to discern: the bright sheen makes it look almost metallic. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: I don't really see a "first encounter" here. The encounter is implicit (the viewer), but almost any image would qualify under this loose criterium. Still, the modeling of the statue is quite good -- it's a nice use of texture. BTW how did the foliage get UNDER the ancient statue? ===== From east103@dialaccess.com: Nice job with the statue. Could use some more work on the texture of the brown leaves. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Very well done. Could be a photo in an archeology book. ===== From blaineholmes@hotmail.com: Love the plants, they added a lot to your scene. Nice job. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Truly excellent csg and texturing. You get amazing mileage out of simple (sounding) techniques. The statue is very convincing and very artistic. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Hmmmm... interesting and original. Nice details, as de "dry" texture on the fall leaves and the lichen layer. Perhaps I find the green leves too dark for a rain forest. ===== From r@haka.saunalahti.fi: The lighting is wrong for a jungle - there should be shadows cast on the foreground and the statue as well. This looks more like a display in some hotel or such place meant to entertain tourists.
