The imaginary worlds of  1930's Science Fiction Comics!
This image was modelled from hazy recollections of Buck Rogers comic books, part
way between realism and the comic book drawings.
The image is dark but with the right screen brightness, shadow detail is
visible.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

All new image.
All hand coded in PovRay 3.01.
Mostly CSG. 
The rocks are height fields from Fractint 'Plasma'. 
The ground is a height field from PovRay 'wrinkles'.
The flying belt smoke is a while loop using a sphere and a torus.
