Oooh, the smoke plume is fantastic.

The leaves in the immediate foreground are also very nicely detailed.

For pine trees, they look pretty sparse. Pine trees usually have very dense
coverage of branches.

Magnificent smoke, very nice water lighting conditions.
Way too dark overall, I blew my eyes with the rest of my screen when I had to
turn the brighness up to max level :-<
I like the islands, although something is funny about them, maybe some more work
is required but I'm not sure what.

The pinnacles confused me a bit -- at first, they looked like reflections in
the water of the ash plume, but they were the wrong shape.  The plume, though,
is fantastic.

scene. Only one question: Why have you used such a 
high JPG compression rate ? The losses are really 
important, especially on the right part of the pic.

The island in the centre looks very precarious and not particuarly accurate.
The volcano is
lovely, the ash plume looks very realistic. The grass is a little too
uniform as you noted

The plume and the very clever foliage are excellent.  
The only thing that doesn't fit is the surreal melting grass 
effect on the islands.  It is pretty, but it doesn't really go 
with the story of the image, which implies a high degree 
of realism.  With so active a volcano, I would expect 
turbulence in the surrounding water.

<g>  The smoke, the trees, the ocean, the sun--
everything--is well done.  That's a good idea for the 
trees.  I have yet to see trees that look as good as 
yours.  Keep it up!

Very nice image... well done! Time spent on the smoke plume was well worth it.
Trees also great. I think the foreground and camera position are fine, but yes,
the grass would benefit from some attention.
