===== From spanky@wpi.edu: It looks like the blue orb on the end of that wand is intersecting the table. You should have rotated it up a little. You do quite an amazing job in this scene. I love your usage of colored lights and the texturing/image map job is stellar. Outstanding overall job! ===== From denny1@home.com: The wood texture used on the table is interesting. The smoke effect coming from the incense is well done. However usually smoke is laminar (smooth) for some distance, then suddenly becomes turbulent. The smoke from this incense is turbulent immediately (perhaps some mystical property of the herb). Having the purple substance in the test tube lying on its side be particularly viscous, so that it is slowly flowing horizontally, is a nice touch. The pestle doesn't look quite right sitting in the mortar that way. Its equilibrium position would be with the end lying on the edge of the bowl directly across from where the other end is touching the bottom of the bowl. It looks like it is pushed up against one edge of the bowl. Is that his diploma tacked to the wall (Bachelor of Wizardry perhaps?) ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Too dark for me. But once brightened, whey, great one. It's hard to believe all is hand coded, must have been a long and hard one to get right. One of the best submissions. ===== From shipbrk@gate.net: Nice textures, good modelling (especially the wand). ===== From caleb@chemeng.uct.ac.za: Best candle ive seen ===== From houston.graphics@iname.com: Nice, I like the textures, especially the wood. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: What a wood! I can feel the surface on my imaginary fingers... the rest is also very nicely executed, but the wood of the table is the best part. The scene seems better for a (past) MAGIC round, but it's still somewhat connected with the topic, bcos magic seems to be completely imaginary (in the most literal sense). ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: An interesting image. It looks genuine but your wizard is cleaner and much more tidy than most. Very well done. ===== From gshaw@monotix.co.za: 70-80 HOURS???? You either have a lot more patience than I do, or that is a mistype. It's very nice. Candle is a little too perfect. Add some melted wax for an improvement. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: A very nice image! The wooden table has a real worn look, as does the parchment. The book pages could use a little of that wear and tear too, but the other objects are excellent, especially the wand. Glows from opposite ends are well done. ===== From jull43@ij.net: I don't know that this is an unknown world but quite interesting, detailed and very well done.
