I toss and tumble in my sleep. Disturbing visions invade my dreams, altering the landscape of my imagination in subtle and abrupt manners. Wandering around a corner, from one world to the next, I find myself in a cloying pocket of silence. A strange, almost faceless man turns towards me, and a sense of foreboding comes over me. Looking about for an avenue of escape, my gaze falls upon a brightness in the distance. Bending my will, I feel myself begin to flow towards the distant peaks. Dare I stop and smell the flower along the way? DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This all began with an odd dream I had one night, and the foggy remnants that cluttered my mind the following morning. As it happened, I had been experimenting with Rhino, trying to step outside the tutorials and see what I could do on my own. The face was my first personal object created with Rhino. As faces go, it's very basic. But it mirrors that of my dream, and has it's own unique character. As well as the face, the neck, shoulders, sweater, vine (leaves and stems are CSG), all the parts of the flower, and the vase are all meshes created in Rhino, and exported to POV (a hulking 30+ MB of include files ). The rest was all done with CSG, basic objects and heightfields. Of the textures, I'm particularly proud of the sweater's texture and the texture on the vase. I've included a zipped-up POV file, but have left out the meshes and heightfields. If anyone is truly interested (although they're all simple shapes), maybe we can arrange a transfer. I hope you all enjoy this representation of the Imaginary World of my dreams. David Heys autumn@sinbad.net http://www.sinbad.net/~autumn
