===== From spanky@wpi.edu: Awesome job with the grass. I like this scene alot, you really captured the idea of the card soldiers well! ===== From denny1@home.com: Ooooh, I like it. The hedgehog is very well done, kindof cute actually. The tarnish and chipped paint on the helmets is an excellent touch. However, adding a bit of randomness to each soldier's helmet would be even better, so they don't all have the same wear patterns. Even rotating the helmet 90 degrees randomly would have differentiated them. Love the fractal roses. Looks like the queen stacks the deck: I see the seven of spades twice, and I think thats the eight of spades twice, plus a few others I'm not so sure about. The texture on the castle looks a bit like plastic, though I think that was the intention here. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Pretty nice. I really like the sky, the roses and the castle. But the cards are a bit too simple, i.e. rigid looking. The painter would need some more work for proper placement of the pot in his right hand and the brush in his left hand. I also like the grass and leaves of the bush, but the trunk is just not that. ===== From shipbrk@gate.net: Nice, especially the helmets, hedgehog and roses. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Very good image. Story well portrayed. ===== From gshaw@monotix.co.za: Very nice. Grass and hedgehog look very good. Maybe it's time to move from win 95 to linux. Trees by castle look like lollipops. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Clever scene, from an obvious source! The cartoony detail suits the subject matter and is consistent. Nicely done. ===== From jull43@ij.net: A touch "plastic" but overall excellant. But I guess maybe cards were waxed in Dodgson's time. (Yes, I like him too.) Rather nicer greenery than usually seen although a touch lacking in the landscaping of the castle. And nice that it is not a duplication of Disney but a personal rendering in the other sense of rendering. ===== From r@ascend-tk-p165.rhrz.uni-bonn.de: Very nice! Innovative theme and good modelling. Notable for modelling, originality
