===== From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu: I am most attracted to the lighting in this image. The plant life in the scene looks a bit desolate; I'm not sure what time of year the experiment took place, but I think that the trees would have looked better with some leaves and I'm not sure about the sparseness of the grass. Why does the church have a wooden portcullis? ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: Is that Franklin? The human looks very female to me. The lightning bolt is great and the textures on the clocktower are good, too. ===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Very good! You might want to work a bit more on the grass texture, but that's a minor quibble. (It looks like Bert is in the clock tower, btw; better tell Ernie.) ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Nice render. Not the hoky cliche' I was expecting as I waited for it to download. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Quite nice, but lacks a bit in color selection and composition. As to historic accuracy, although the experiment Franklin conducted was very ddangerous he was not _that_ stupid. He used a key attached to the kite string to short the electric current into the ground without touching him. In the setup as depicted the full current of the lightning would go through Mr. Franklin's body, almost certainly killing him. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good job, GUMPers! Good sense of light. Clock tower reminds me of "Back to the Future". Pretty heavy gate (boards as big as your chest?) on the building. ===== From davidwilkinson@cwcom.net: The image is good and I like the idea of a co-operative project. I'm not happy about the detailing of the building, but the lighting is good. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Nice image. Good lighting. Looks pretty serious though! ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: The point of view may have been closer from Franklin, with the eye looking from down to up. The scale of some constructive elements of the clocktower (tiles, bricks and grid) is much too large. ===== From r@pluto.icom-solutions.com: Notable for lighting, composition
