===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: The ground looks very flat and uniformly colored, and the horizon looks pretty flat too. Aren't there any hills in Paris? The aircraft is pretty good. I like the metallic texture (even if it isn't authentic, as Bernd Sieker said). ===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Nice choice; the spotlights are a bit like lasers; they could probably spread a bit more and/or have a smoother fall-off. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: I also made a Spirit of St. Louis image and have to admit that your model is somewhat more accurate than mine, esp. the front part. A stronger anitaliasing would have removed the ugle edges of the wings. What is completely inaccurate and actually disturbs the overall image a lot are these stupid search lights. Light rays as such are not visible, for them to become visible there must be some fog, but if there were fog, we couldn't see the Eiffel tower that clear. And nin the fog, light beams widen with distance and become weaker. Also, What does illuminate the airplane? None of the searchlights seems to hit it, yet it is lit from below; why can't we see the spot that lights up the plane? ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Laser-like light beams are an artistic touch, but look unrealistic. I wish they faded more. Good modelling on the plane. Awfully strong gradient on the sky is almost distracting. Nice cohesive color palette. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Nice job. The searchlights seem a bit too solid though. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: A little uniform, especially the colours... ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Nice job on the plane. The engine cowl is very much like the real thing. I would like to see more ground lights. Try experimenting with media and atmospheric effects for the search lights. They can be done as cylinders with media or real lights using atmospheric effects. You will get a much better effect, but you will pay in rendering time. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: Looks like a poster from the era - I approve.
