===== From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu: I don't find the image that interesting to look at, except to note the patience that it must have taken to make the whole ship. I am used to doing CSG in POV-Ray, and have not used sPatch yet, but I imagine that it is still difficult to keep track of how your wavy surfaces are fitting together. ===== From sammy@cube.net: I thought about giving you a 1 for Concept, just for using Titanic! (argh ... *SHE* is again on the radio! Can't stand it anymore! No! No!Please, Spare me!) Just joking ... It's a very good picture! I like the small pieces lying around and the look of bent metal of the hole! ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: The light isn't really realistic. At that depth thee should be no sunlight, so the ship should be illuminated by a lamp, and then the lighting wouldn't be so "uniform", I think. The modelling is very good though! ===== From jerry@hoboes.com: Impressive historical rendering! I would like to see more evidence of being on the sea floor; while rusted, the ship looks awfully clean. ===== From jull43@ij.net: Quite an interesting rendering but not history but today. The wreck is historical not history. As a technical point, two miles down, the only light comes from the camera lighting used thefore the lighting for the scene is wrong. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: I wonder what those red stripes are meant to be? Is underwater rust really that red? Some of the cracks in the deck look really good. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Very nice! It only seems to be missing a school of fishes... ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Lots of hard work, obviously. But the result is still monochromatic and depressing. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Well done. Might have been better if there was more to suggest water. ===== From 101741.541@compuserve.com: Very nice almost-monochromatic feeling. Is has a feel of quietness. The elements have thickness and depth, some mystery, and much weight too. A very _solid_ image, indeed ! ===== From lowellr@globaldialog.com: About lighting This would be a deep cold water picture. Light at this depth would be almost non existant. The water "texture?" would be murky. Shadows would be nonexistant. A more "real" approach would be to have the view from a minisub. The light provided by the subs search lights. Also if you mess around with the camera normals ie. a nice streched ripple normal will give a water current affect. and by the way, where is the manditory bubble stream This of course is only my opinon and I have been known to be wrong ( once) Bob ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Nice job. Kind of spooky, I would not want to go inside. The buckled sheet metal plates came out well. For improvement I would add the search light from the exploring sub. ===== From r@pluto.icom-solutions.com: Notable for originality
