===== From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu: The idea is good. It is also clear from the image. I had problems, however, with the mud. It looks too shiny and flat; my first thought was that the footprints were in water somehow. ===== From brendthess@aol.com: The footprints are too sharp - need some curvature and irregularity. ===== From jgoeson@msn.com: One minor nit to pick: most footprints in mud are not sharp-edged. Otherwise, a good picture. ===== From mriser@datacomm.ch: I like the lightening. The footsteps would be better if the had no sharp edges. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: I thought this looks like giant footprints in the water between several islands. I wish the footprints weren't so sharp-edged, and that the spear wasn't sunk below the surface. ===== From autumn@sinbad.net: Good concept. I think a few changes could really add to this scene. The footprints are too uniform. A quick search on Lycos with the key phrase "footprints in the sand" gets a good list of sites with images showing footprints in both wet and dry sand. Using these as a basis for experimentation, you could produce a more convincing set of footprints. A little more play with textures will also help to bring the image to life. I like the lighting and the positioning of the spear. Nice, simple scene. ===== From clem@dhol.com: Simple but effective. The csg feet would have worked better if they had rounded bottoms like real feet. I don't really like the rock texture. It looks more like a camo tarp thrown over the rock. The ground is excellent. Despite the nitpicks, the image is very good. ===== From jull43@ij.net: Honestly, footprings in the dust of a room would be less believable. But then both are just mysterious. Unbelievable would be footprints going up the wall of a room. ===== From sdevet@istar.ca: The water seems a bit off. I really like the scum on the rocks, looks great! however, the rocks as a whole are a bit too ambiant, too flat. Would have been nice to have the prints a bit blurred.. my feet aren't that square bottomed! :) ===== From file: Interesting.
