===== From file: Was it me or did there seem to be an awful lot of light houses? ===== From file: As participant and voter in this round I just want to thank all fellow contestants for their participation and the rich spectrum of images. It really was a hard job not only to create the image itself but also to judge over each of the 87(-1) pictures! ===== From 96592C00BE93: This was difficult to judge due to the subject. A few very good graphical and conceptual submissions. ===== From file: There seem to be some very good rendering programs out there...for the beginner who has no programming experience, the ones which achieve "Myst-like" detail level with 3-d effects and textured surfaces seem to require less effort!! ===== From file: This round is notable for the large number of duplicate subjects. Is some lockstep thinking developing? It is also notable for the large number of dark and depressing color schemes. I deplore both of these trends. With so many potential subjects this round - the Ramesseum (the *real* Ozymandias statue that inspired Shelley!), the ornate mosque surrounded by cornfields in Perrysburg Ohio, El Capitan, the Greenwich Observatory, Elsinore, Lenin's Tomb, the Daibutsu, The giant tire near Detroit Michigan, the Planisphere, Angel Falls, the Estivant Pines, the Colosseum et multiple cetera - why so many lighthouses and (broken) statues of Liberty? Not to mention the poor people who couldn't even come up with something on topic. Sorry, had to rant a bit. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
