===== From chris@bluelectrode.com: Not bad for a first attempt. Once you get past the technology barriers I'd be interested to see your future works. Good job. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: seems a little dark... ===== From soulmates@gci.net: It's a shame that the position of the light makes it difficult to pick out many details of your octopus. Of course, that may have been intentional. :{) ===== From YaelParis@operamail.com: It's difficult to see what this picture dealing about. A bit confuse. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Caustics are a bit too weak; seafloor looks like marble tile. ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: The random line pattern on top of the seafloor does a very nice job of simulating the reaction of the water surface on a sunny day ===== From tom@tomandlu.force9.co.uk: No sense of water, and I couldn't really see the octopus until I adjusted brightness. On the whole I prefered the scene before I knew what it was meant to be! ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Nice concept, but some of your contenders have put a lot more quality in their realisation, sorry to say yours does not match. Good try though. ===== From karl@pemail.net: Octopus - whats that got to do with gardens, then some daft song popped into my head .. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Exactly the first idea that came to my mind! ===== From albiaprime@aol.com: Technical - very good although the shadow on the octopus's head makes it look like it is a hollow bowl at first. all objects are very well done Artistic - nicely arranged and set up Theme - a very unique and 'cute' interpretation of the theme ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: I'm surprised we didn't see more octopus gardens in this round! Firstly, I had to up the gamma quite a bit on this to even see the octopus, but that's not your fault. Good concept, and I like the fact the octopus is actually doing something in his garden. The textures are fairly flat though, and I don't really get an impression of being underwater (hopefully you can master that plug-in soon). Also the sand looks flat - some sort of heightfield to give it depth would help.
