Almost evrything you see on this picture is an isosurface (or CSG of isosurfaces). Pretty simple, indeed, with a massive use of noise3d() at different frequencies. See the code in iso_utils.inc & plage8.pov. The little stones are blobs with 2 components and the bucket is simple CSG. A part of the water texture uses the Fresnel reflectivity model of Megapov.
