JPGFILE: roulette.jpg ZIPFILE: roulette.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.1g TOOLS USED: editor of povray 3.1g for Windows, ImageMagick convert tool. RENDER TIME: about 8 hours, in background HARDWARE USED: Pentium II, 400MHz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: For once, when the little sphere stopped, all the players were ruined. (or was there only one player ?) True ruins of buildings are far too much for my current mood... and some people already have such a good experiment with them. So rather try a limit of the subject : Ruins may also be a financial loss. So losing a lot of money at the roulette may be on topic. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I started with the modelling of the table with the roulette on it. And then add the crowd of token with the help of some macro. All is hand-coded and there is a lot of text objects. The fonts used was needed to be non-proportional. I would have used "arial.ttf" but since the y2k/euro update, this fount is 150k big and has some trouble with POV. So "arialalt.ttf" was just fine ! The finish are basic (directly from finish.inc), as well as the wood (just scaled a little). My modelling unit was 1 pov unit = 1 cm. Note : there is no door to this room, as there is no leg either for the table. I hesitated to put some tokens on the table as well on Pair/Impair/Manque/ Passe/Red/Black, but it was going to be a complete loss of the money, so leaving some tokens was not a good idea, and the rule for the tokens on these bets when there is a zero is not as simple as for the plain number.
