JPGFILE: bath.jpg ZIPFILE: bath.zip RENDERER USED: Povray 3.2 TOOLS USED: Crossroads, 3dWin Converter, 3ds2pov Converter RENDER TIME: 12 hours 20 minutes 19 seconds HARDWARE USED: IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This is an image of a public bath house like those you might have found in ancient Rome. Large and communal it was not only a place to get clean, it was a social gathering place. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The steps, walls, door ways and floor are all primitive boxes. The dolphins, curtains torches, and dome are meshes I found via the internet, sorry I can't remember from whom or where, but I than you anyway. I used Crossroads, 3dWin Converter and/or 3ds2pov converter to convert them into pov. Using John VanSickle's AxisRotate to copy/rotate everything around to make it octagonal I then added the ladies. Using Lady.inc that I obtained from Yasunari Iwanaga (Japan) , off the PovRay site, to create the ladies. I added a set of hair, also a mesh, and other minor modifications to the body. Then added lights to the torches and as sunlight above. You can only see its shadow, but there is a dome made of wood and glass above the main central pool. Upon rendering this, it would have taken several days, as there were 49 light sources at then time, so I limited the number of angles around the octagon to those that you can see.
