The Ant farm looks good I like the 3d effect of the grooves. The books and apartment seem a little flat. I would enunciate the windows and maybe add a reflective finish to the windows. The books need a little curviture to the spine. (The text looks good.)Do a union with a box and a cylinder at the edge that would give you a nice binding.

I also made an antfarm in this round. This struck me as weird, that two people think of antfarms for city. Then I see that your title is the same as mine! This is just crazy! I do like your picture though, although perhaps you should add giant killer ants (:

The ants look very nice, as do the tunnels through the 
sand.  The frame of the antfarm is kinda basic though.  
The sky is nice too.  I like the shaping on the bookend, 
but the texture seems pretty reflective.  The pencil looks 
good.  The buildings could use some work, though, I 
think.

terrible quality image...try using normals along with your pigments instead of just pigments alone. also the lighting in the scene should be refined more, there is way too much ambient light.
