The disadvantage of using that technique for trees is that they don't cast
shadows. For example the biggest tree at the right looks like it should cast
a shadow on the ground and perhaps the river.
You should have added rocks also to the ground, not only the river. Now it
looks
like someone had carried the rocks from somewhere else and dropped them there.
The idea of the image is good.

Good composition, nice work with the plants, this mapping trick usually causes
problems with the shadows, but you managed to avoid that problem :-) good
detail work with the rivulet.

Excellent work! The composition, texturing, modelling... You've managed
a pretty perfect balance of the objects. The background and foreground
objects suit well together, and even the plants are fairly realistic. 
Definitely one of my top 5 candidates.
