IMAGE DESCRIPTION: In December 15 1999, a natural disaster occurred in El Litoral. That day and the following the rain was so hard that the landscape changed. Thousand of people died and other lost their homes. This image represents a "fictitious" shipwreck near La Guaira, national main harbor. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: In this scene, the water is modeled with a ridged multifractal iso-surface. Originally designed to model mountains, ridged multifractals are perfectly suited to model sea water, a sign of its chaotic behavior. This was the simple part. The most time consuming part was texturing. I have made many many test before I arrived to this final result. Unfortunately iso-surfaces are one of the most slowly rendering objects in MegaPov. I want to thank to the people at povray news who's comments helped to improve the quality of the original images I posted there.
