- The sky is a bit too flat (shouldn't there be a hint of
  clouds) and the rocks should probably be more shiny since
  they're wet.

Nice looking image.  The splashes look good, as does the texturing on the
lighthouse.  The background seems to add a lot to the atmosphere of a wet,
foggy, dismal day.  The water surface and the rocks seem a little
unrealistic... partially because of the colors.

Your sky combined with the waves give the sense a storm is near. A very nice

So, how did you do the foam? Very nice overall. That perturbated cone effect
works well to add "settling" to the structure.

This has a very nice, stylized look... almost like a 
painting.  The lighthouse looks great.  The spray might 
need a little tweaking to make it look more natural.  The 
person is a nice touch and looks good from a distance.

I really love this image.  The only things I would change is make it a bit 
darker and create a better texture for the rocks at the bottom.  The spray
looks very good, this is another image that has a hand painted feel to it
which goes well with scenes that include a rough stormy sea.  
Here in the UK all lighthouses are automated, so I can't be a lighthouse
keeper,
guess I'll have to have a career rethink.  Sad but true.

Good job.  The sky texture is well thought out, and the non-cylinder lighthouse
is effective and subtle.  I enjoyed your description of how you built
everything.  The vertical lighthouse is dull visually, but you handled it well
with the sky and it's top.
