===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: good, but the whole image looks a bit flat, as if it needed more contrast. perhaps deep shadows illuminated only by very birhgt aquariums would have been better. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Nooooo. I agree that your scene is incomplete but simplicity will hit your technical score, at least for me. I rate object variety highly. Pipes and valves, perhaps under floor grating, is my initial recommendation. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: I didn't get the feel that it was underwater perhaps larger windows are needed? An OK scene but nothing special. ===== From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com: I think the image lost quality with the .jpg conversion, the next time try to get better quality... ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice concept.... ===== From tony@j4tb.com: Perhaps if its different enough you can submit to the next IRTC. (The Laboratory) Not too bad for a first time entry and test render. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Nice try especially for a first, but as you say, lack of time shows ... pity. There is a nice atmosphere indeed, but it feels a bit empty / cold / clean. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This does have a very unfinished look to it... I think it would look quite good if more time were spent on it. The fishtank looks very nice; it's a shame more of it can't be seen... it could have made a good picture all by itself, it looks like. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: A good first entry. The textures need a lot of work, and we can't tell if there is actually water in this room or not, so it nees something to show us the, like a coffee table with a cup and a teapot on it, and if the room is full fo water then have bubbels coming out of the teapot, and if there isn't then have a cigarette on in an ashtray with smoke rising from it. These additions would also ad a bit of interest and make the image much less stark looking. I hope to see more of your work in future rounds. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Good start to competing. Of course you should finish, but try starting with the most important objects first (if you are going to interpret a theme, then you have to at least state the thesis visually). The room is usually not the most important, and can be done later. Lighting is, but try to set up at least 2 lighting schemes - one for the final render, and one for testing. The lighting and camera placement I always find being changed at the last minute, so expect those to be one of the last things done. Have fun, and happy thinking! ===== From file: Not convinced this lab is underwater. Also, there needs to be more detail, objects on the floor, etc.
