===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: very nice, esp the sea... the texturing on the rocks is the only weak point ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: The outcrop is a bit coarse, otherwise pretty good. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: Good attention to details, very well done water and waves. The rock are the weak link for me, how about some height variation, dirt, moss, rubbish,.... ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: Really tipicall ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Great detail.... needs a bit of splashing water around the rocks. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: Excellent work with randomness. (When ever I use randomness it looks too 'random') a good first time IRTC entry ===== From didieric@free.fr: I like very much the lighthouse, the sky and the sea. The two other buildinds and the rocks look as a different style . Less realistic. ===== From angelaperry@webcombo.net: The lighthouse and the water, being the central foci of the image, were also the superior parts of the picture. The rocks and houses could use a bit more work for realism, but overall I liked the picture. ~A. Perry ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Very classical. Nice too, though I would not dare place a house that close to the light house and shore ;-) The sky could be better. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: Beautifully composed, a nice mix of detailed with broad treatment. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Excellent job on the lighthouse, and a very picturesque scene in general. The only criticism I have is that the water seems a little over-rippled in the foreground. Nice work on the rocky shoreline. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: A superb first entry. You've put this together so well, the simplicity of the sky and the intricate detail of the buildings along with an interesting and fairly realistic sea and rocks all make this a well ballanced and coherent image. Improvements: The rocks could do with a touch more variation in colour, and perhaps some moss and maybe a bit more shiny and wet looking. And I think it just lacks a slight spark, so maybe darken the image a bit, have light visible from within the white building and those lamps above the rocks and from inside the lighthouse itself, but not so dark that we can't see the colouration of the rocks and water. If all of your work is of this quality then I'll look forward to seeing more of it in future rounds. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Very impressive for a beginner! Water, rocks and lighthouse all look great. The buildings look a little flat and lifeless - the random brick positioning is a good start, but they could use some layered dirt texture or a bit more shadow somehow - especially the white one. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Great work in the objects. I like the blobby water. The color/size gradation on the rocks is subtle, and brings the water and land together nicely. ===== From file: This is a very pleasant scene.
