i like the background ~ the world needs better texturing.
 actually, greek philosphy said the world was round. i think it was
aristotle(?) who actually measured it's radius to suprising accuracy.

Nice work for a first entry, but it could do with something eles in there
to get it to tell a bit of a story, I don't know what, so I'll leave that

Good background, though the composition is a little bit obstructing.  The lines
lead toward the center, but the center  isn't much to look at, even though the
theme is good.
