===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yeah. Not bad an idea, but ... ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Some nice work here. The dolphin looks very good. The porthole looks nice, but it seems like the glass area should be bigger and the metal rim sized down accordingly. The wood texture works well for a background but I think it might look even better if it were broken up into boards. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: A simple but effective image. It needs a bit more work on the textures. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Centering is an effective way to focus attention on the center of the image (the dolphin). Try taking another render with the camera looking at the left / right / up / down and you will see that the circular effect still brings the eye to the dolphin, though it is not centered in the screen. Also, try changing the shape of the portal to be a triangle or square or other symetrical shape and it will have the same affect on the center of attention in the image. Next, try breaking up the shape. . . use a bunch of unconnected lines (without a background) resembling the shape of a circle / triangle / square / etc. More than that, you can then move the lines in and out, still retaining the same centered effect. Then try eliminating some of the lines until you no longer have the same sense that the dolphin is the center. Or you can start rotating the lines, or try making the lines into shapes or parts of shapes. Even the lines of the dolphin begin to become lines that bring attention to the dolphin.
