===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: Nice wok. The boat and figures are perhaps the least good parts of the image, they look a little flat. Better texturing needed? Very nice though. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: I've seen MegaPOV entries with fractal-based isosurface water. I used a flat plane and a complex texture normal. Using one or both of these ideas in lieu of the water heightfield might save you rendering time in the future. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: Love the sky, love the birds, love the sea, like the rock. HATE the boat and the fishermen. It would have scored much higher it not for the men/boat. Sorry. ===== From panthus@xtra.co.nz: Great sky and great sea. I don't understand how the figures and boat are so well lit with the sun behind them - could have more mood if they were in shadow. The sea pooling into the rock is a great blend. ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: Very "The Perfect Storm" (Tm) :-) ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice image.. painted feel. Horizon needed some atmospheric affect to fade it out. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: The light effect is really cool I have always been too afraid to use such huge numbers in Pov-Ray. I see two main problems with the image. Your boat looks see through. Your water though quite realistic needs a tad bit of spray. ===== From bbowen@cswnet.com: Very high marks all the way around. I think there are just a few too many shells on the rocks though. This is a great pic, worthy of any portfolio. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yeah, not bad at all ;-) One detail tough detracts from the quality of the scene : the very sudden change from sea to sky especially under a cloudscape, there is always some haze that blurs the transition. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: The light coming through the clouds looks good, and I like the water... it has a nice stormy look to it (although maybe a little bright?) The starfish clinging to the exposed rocks are a nice touch. The boat and figures look good, although they seem less textured than the rest of the scene. The gulls seem a bit flat. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Hmm something seems to have gone wrong here, not up to your usual standar Mick. It all seems to have gone flat and dry, looking asthough you've usel loads of ambinet light which I'm sure you wouldn't do. I like the sky and the rock in the foreground, but that's about it. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: The rocks and sea are nice models. Visually, I don't think you need the sky. . . the composition without it is actually more attractive to me.
