===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: sky and sea good, i like the storm coming in. but the rest is a little flat ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: The lack of wood texture quality seriously hurt the art score. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: Has potential, nice stars/clear sky to storm transition. Not enough geometric detail (junk) on the ship and in the cabin. Things are too clean! ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: More of an ideia than image ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Needed more realism. ===== From bbowen@cswnet.com: A little dark. After I adjusted my monitor brightness, I could see the nice cloud bank. ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Interesting idea, but the wooden textures could do with quite some work. Are the stars for real ? I mean are they an image map of our earthy sky ? ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: There's some nice work here, although overall it looks too simplistic. The rope hanging down looks very nice, and the cloud layer looks good. I can't help wondering why different board textures were used for the deck than for the other parts of the ship... the boards on the deck look pretty nice, while the others look very simplistic and flat. The painting inside the cabin is a nice touch. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: The rope looks good but all other textures look really basic and need some work. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: The clouds really work well to create a mood in this scene. The textures for the wood would not be so bright. . . less ambience? Try using a very small arealight instead of a point light to create the softer shadows of lamp or candle light. And, as I told someone else, you don't have to justify that there are no people in the scene. Other things are of interest to people than people, and an image can be visually stunning with or without them.
