===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: very nice, although the angle of the clouds looks a bit odd, and the splash certainly dosn't look like it wa created by the dolphin. i love the sea and the texturing of the whole thing. ===== From elvish_archer@mailcity.com: wow the dolphin and the splashing water it's really cool but there is a strange connection between the splashing water and the ripple on the water. But I like this image. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: I expect this kind of quality from the pros (Bryce, TrueSpace, etc.) but to see this from POV-Ray/Hamapatch is nothing short of awesome. That splash blob had to be made by a macro generator (which I will look into if possible) with that many components. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: The best splash I've seen for a while although where are the ripples on the water surface? ===== From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com: very good splash effect, and the sky is very good too... ===== From wagner-michael@web.de: Really nice. I like the water - it's great! ===== From panthus@xtra.co.nz: A bit dark for the subject. Great 'splosh' effect and the water with the light coming down it looks really good. ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: Great picture! The splash is a *must*. But I find the sun and the interaction with the clouds a bit weird Nobody's perfect, but this is very close :-) ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Great image. Consistent lighting. The splash is credible. Water seems realistic. ===== From douge@nls.net: The water splash looks nice (although it doesn't seem realistic for some reason... looks like the splash resulting from something entering the water). The water surface looks realistic (except on the right where the light hits it). The sky looks excellent... nice work. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: I am impressed with the water splash. That brought your technical up a lot. I agree it is a very nice water texture. Overall the image is well composed. ===== From gregj56590@aol.com: Superb detail in water and on dolphin. Clouds don't fit into scene well. Birds seem a bit out of place too. Perhaps things are a bit grey. ===== From vereb@mines.u-nancy.fr: Nice, though not original indeed. ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: That's the way most of my images start. Nice water effect. THe clouds are convincing. ===== From bbowen@cswnet.com: Those are some of the most photorealistic clouds I've seen. And, except for the hard line where the two objects meet, that is an excellent water splash you've made. ===== From angelaperry@webcombo.net: Very nice rendering of a dolphin. The sky and sea are quite lovely as well, and the splash is technically very interesting. The splash looks like it results from a small object (ie drop of water) falling into a larger body of water, rather than a large dolphin jumping out. On the other hand, the barely visible texture on the island does an excellent job of evoking greenery and lush plantlife. Overall, a good picture. ~A. Perry ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yes ! That has to be one of the nicest ones of this round, one of the most artistic, I actually gave you the top mark in art which you don't share with anyone ;-). I love the movement, the light, the whole consistency of the scene, the quality of the water and sky. Again, I say : Yes ! I love it. Ok, time to be a little critical now. The clouds close to the horizon look a bit odd, like clouds on the horizon usually look distant, those ones look relatively close up. I rated the top few as follows (overall ranking) : 1/ Moby Duck 2/ Shipwreck near La Guaira 3/ Atlantic Still Life 4*2/ Sinking, Le Grand Bleu 5*2/ Missing Maine, The Great Wave The others are well distanced. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: Strangely tactile, like a dream ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice scene. The birds look very real, and the water splash looks quite convincing (perhaps a bit more like glass than water, but still, very close). The clouds are also good. The texture on the water looks better in the distance than close up (a common problem, it seems.) ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: An amazing image. I love all the greys that you've used here, it could be a B+W photo or it could be colour who knows? The atmosphere's just right, it reminds me of a Scottish lake with the mountains at the other side. Superb. ===== From went@netcourrier.com: Nice image. The 10K blob sea is nery realistic. Mais l'aileron du dauphin devrait etre arrondi au bout. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: I actually only liked this image after finding out it was designed by you, and not stock objects. One critique: the water would have a direction, especially when forced from below as in this pic. It would also be less smooth. I think the sky and sun is neat because it is surreal (it couldn't occur in nature, at least), and the sea looks great. ===== From file: Where are the ruipples on the water surface. Nice splash anyway! Notable for composition, lighting ===== From file: This is a really nice image. To me the dolphin is the central element, yet it's not overpowering. Good choice to make it heading away from the camera. I wish the splash weren't quite so regular however. ===== From file: Very well done! Notable for textures, composition, lighting, modelling
