RENDER TIME: 12 hours 15 minutes HARDWARE USED: Intel Celeron 500Mhz w/ Windows 98 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Lighthouse and keeper's residence on a rocky outcrop into the sea. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is my first entry into the POV-Ray competition and I haven't been rendering that long yet. I based the image on a calender photo. The water is a randomly generated blob scaled quite flat and differenced from itself to create a wobbly plane. The rock wall is 10,000 randomly placed spheroids (some are underwater to come through the transparency) with a few conditional scale and colour operators to make the top ones green and the lower ones bigger. The lighthouse, house, fence and garage are mainly CSG objects with a few formulas for repititious actions or randomising bricks, blind heights in the house and the wobble in the fence. The sky is a POV-Ray sky_sphere with a gradient colour map of blues and a bozo map of transparent-to-white for clouds. I really like the spirit of sharing code and I have learned a lot from looking at other people's, so I have included mine for what it is worth.
