===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Object variety is lacking. Even if you don't add vegetation, sea birds like rocky outcrops like this one to nest. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: Excellent lighting effects, reasonable water. ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: Hook on Monkey Island!! :) Lechuck's gonna get it now! ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice concept. Cloth needed more realism. ===== From douge@nls.net: Great idea! The lens flare looks very nice. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: I like the telescope perspective. ===== From bbowen@cswnet.com: A unique point of view. ===== From angelaperry@webcombo.net: One of the most creative entries in the contest. I liked what the picture evoked in the mind but did not show, as well as what was included in the picture itself. This picture said "pirates" more than any other I saw. Nice choice of the round field of view, too. ~A. Perry ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Pretty neat idea. I'd have loved to see some better weaving though (look at the sleeve really !). ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Some good work here. The hook and the land formation look good, although the land does appear to be casting a shadow on the sky. The water texture could use some work. Personally, I don't care for the use of a 'spyglass ring' to frame the scene, although it does suit the concept of the scene. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: Not bad, but the sea looks furrowed like a ploughed field, the land looks very basic and the sky needs much more work. A good effort. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Nice explanation! The only real problem I see is not visual - it seems to be a fine picture - but rather the meaning behind the sybols. . . why are we only seeing the hook? You normally can't see your hand (hook) if looking through a telescope, so the symbolism throws off a nice image.
