JPGFILE: bdctan.jpg ZIPFILE: bdctan.zip RENDERER USED: POVRay 3.1g for windows TOOLS USED: POVRay, paintbrush (for image_maps), scanner RENDER TIME: 18h24m HARDWARE USED: K6-233 64RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The lamp is a composite of simple primitives. So is the glass. The wood textures for the wall and table are derived from the file "woods.inc" which is included in PovRay. The frame hung on the wall is given an image painted in Paintbrush. The image is low-res to give it the "square-letter" look. A normal pattern is then applied, with the intent of making it appear cross-stitched. The color photo is of my sister, her husband and her son. The b&w photo is of my great-grandparents and their family. The effect of having a different photo in the reflection is achieved by juxtaposing the two photos and "misplacing" the bounding boxes. The table actually uses a gradient between two textures, one very reflective and one not so, to make the old photo show up well without the lamp blindingly bright in the reflection.
