===== From charliemc@prodigy.net: I like the fire. ===== From hgregory3@aol.com: Artistic - Nicely composed! I like the reflected snowman looking in at the dog in front of the warm fire. Technical - Good work, good technical notes (and No, your notes are Not too long. Good notes make technical judging easier). Concept - A different sort of contrast. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: I like the interpretation. ===== From steve@neurotrain.com: A 12 T 12 C 11 Nicely laid out. Lighting is pretty good. When I first saw the picture I thought you had used the window frame as a vertical split with the left side being the poor house at Christmas and the right side being the rich...alas no. The biggest point is the frame...since it isn't used to purposefully break up the scene, it just gets in the way...perhaps if the camera had moved in on one pane with part of the frame along the edges o the image... Technically there a few little problems. 1. The coffee cup is the size of Fido's head - watch the proportions. I think the red thing on the bed is a blanket... Concept - I do see the snowman and what appears to be a light snowfall reflected in the window. You needed to add more visual cues regarding how cold it was- frost on the window, a puff of breath from whoever is standing out there, or eve a thermometer attached to the frame outside the window. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: I like the way the fire looks, and the faint reflection of the snow and snowman in the glass. Most of the objects look good, although some (the shape of the stockings, the size of the wreath) could use some work. The tree and presents look nice. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Lots of hard work pays off here. Unfortunately, the scene is almost ruined by the poor work on the closest element in the scene: the window frame, with it's awful texture and simplistic modeling. Also, you might try adding a spotlight onto the house near the roof, shining towards the snowman, which will highlight more of the snow, snowy ground and the snowman's reflection. ===== From hfventer@ing.sun.ac.za: The image is a bit washed out. More contrast (less ambient light) would have been better.
