===== From charliemc@prodigy.net: Pretty. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: Jpeg compression has really hurt this image :-( Which is a shame because it's clever and interesting. I don't know if you were aiming for realism on the boat, but with the good landscape behind it the bright clean colours really stand out and are a bit jarring. Also the way the water meets the land is a bit strange. ===== From hgregory3@aol.com: Artistic - Wow! Looks like something out Canadian Geographic Magazine! Technical - Nice attention to detail on the boat. Concept - Multiple contrasts, high marks! ===== From steve@neurotrain.com: A 12 T 15 C 20 A beautiful backdrop. The mountains, sea and sky are magnificent. The boat unfortunately looks very computer generated. Technically: the modelling is quite good (though you lost a point for the two incredible triangular peaks on the left side of the left moutain). The boat textures are not very realistic. The problem is no natural/organic noise..meaning the door is solidly, perfectly red. The hull is cleaner than it would be brand new. Look at the grass and mountains - note the slight shadows caused by the irregularities in the rock (a combination of bump map and image map is my guess). Excellent concept. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice scene, although the background looks a lot more photo- realistic than the foreground. Interesting concept. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Oh, this is outstanding. The level of detail, modeling, visual contrasts, are all excellent! The "land of contrast" and almost cartoonish colors give the image a perfectly balanced ironic feel. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to tilt the camera down a tiny bit, to de-emphasize the sky and bring the boat a bit more into the scene. ===== From hfventer@ing.sun.ac.za: The slightly bland textures on the ship do bother a bit, but the rest of the image makes up for it :)
