===== From charliemc@prodigy.net: Kinda thorney isn't it. ===== From hgregory3@aol.com: Technical - 12 days to render! Ouch! Technically challenging work though and thus high technical marks. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: That is a great image! And so well born of of the raytracing medium. ===== From steve@neurotrain.com: A 18 T 15 C 17 very impressive picture. The biggest artistic improvement would be to make the rose more expressive (by that I mean curl the stalk to show fear or orient the leaves to show defiance - right now it looks tossed in there), and making the background more of a darker brown/gray to create the illusion of an infinitely thick thorn bush. Technically the thorns are are perfect. I can not think of a way to improve them. The style of model and texture compliment each other beautifully. The rose needs a bit more work though - for example there are no thorns... Good concept ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice work on the thorn bushes... very imposing. The rose looks pretty good, if a touch on the simplistic side. Interesting interpretation of the topic. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Definitely a contrast between the ugly imposing thornbushes and the lonely graceful rose. Strangely, the image itself doesn't have much dynamic range. ===== From hfventer@ing.sun.ac.za: The contrast idea got a bit lost. I think the way you created the immage is brilliant! Well done.
