HARDWARE USED: AMD 900MHz, 128M RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Definition of contrast (Oxford English dictionary): "In the visual arts, the juxtaposition of different forms, colours, etc., to heighten the total effect." When I first started this project I was thinking about some of M.C. Eschers images which slowly change from black to white. Once I had created a basic shape, which I could tessellate, I played around with many monochrome textures but was never really satisfied with them. With the introduction of colour a more pleasing image became available. Nothing too complex in the code; a couple of loops to place the tiles in a 10 x 10 matrix and the random number generator function to mix up the colours - just change the seed and generate your own, unique, wallpaper! I've had to reduce the image size to 590x442 to make the final image fit into the 250Kb size restriction. I guess the constantly changing colours impact upon the compression of the jpg algorithm.
